He was married to a British actress, Lisa Tamsin Faulkner before they got separated in the year 2011. He started his acting career in the year 1999 with the TV show, Cold Feet. He has worked in films and TV shows like HolbyBlue, Shameless, Burn It, Hotel Babylon, The Bill, New Tricks, 24 Hour Party People, Spike Island and many more. He won 2003 British Academy Television Award for Best New Writer for the TV show, Clocking Off and 2003 Royal Television Society North West Awards for Best Performance In A Network Drama, for Burn It.
