BIOGRAPHY

Christopher Doyle is an Hong Kong-based Australian cinematographer who is best known for his work in Chinese language films. A winner of the Technical Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and the Golden Osella Award for Best Cinematography at the Venice Film Festival, Doyle is a frequent collaborator of director Kar Wai Wong, having associated with the director in as many as seven feature films. Significant film credits include That Day, On the Beach (1983), Noir et blanc (1986), Days of Being Wild (1990), Chungking Express (1994), Red Rose, White Rose (1994), In the Mood for Love (2000), 2046 (2004), The White Countess (2005), Fundamentally Happy (2015) and Endless Poetry (2016). Doyle is also a six-time winner of the Hong Kong Film Awards and has won the Australian Film Institute`s Award for Best Cinematography for his work in Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002).
