David Shire is an American songwriter and composer best known for his score in 1974 film The Taking of Pelham One Two Three. He began his scoring in television by early 1960s. His various film credits includesThe Conversation (1974), Return to Oz (1985) and Saturday Night Fever (1977). He won the Oscar foe the Best Music in the film Norma Rae (1979). His other releases include Bed & Breakfast (1992), Rear Window (1998), Zodiac Director`s Cut (2007), The American Side (2016) and Love After Love (2017).
