Emily Margaret Watson is an English actress. She was born in London and graduated from the University of Bristol with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Emily made her debut with the television film A Summer Days Dream (1994). The film fared well at the box office and propelled her career forward, and since then, there was no looking back. Riding on her debut success, Emily went on to deliver a spectacular performance in Breaking the Waves (1996) for which she was nominated to an Academy, Golden Globe as well as a BAFTA award. Emily went on to star in films like The Boxer (1997), Trixie (2000), Red Dragon (2002) and The Proposition (2005), War Horse (2011), Belle (2014), Little Boy (2015) and Everest (2015). Her 2018 release includes The Happy Prince.
