Gary Scott Thompson is an American screenwriter, TV producer and director who is best known for writing the Fast and the Furious film franchise. His other popular writing works in films includes Timecop 2: The Berlin Decision (2003), Hollow Man 2 (2006), Knight Rider (2008), Taxi Brooklyn (2014), Fast And Furious 8 (2017) and Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw (2019). Apart from his work in the big screen, Thompson is also known for being the showrunner, writer and executive producer of the popular TV series Las Vegas, which was broadcast on NBC. The writer-producer also directed four episodes of the series as well as made a brief appearance as a psychotherapy patient in the series. For his brilliant writing credentials, Thompson was honored with Best Drama Series at the WIN Awards for positive highlighting and multi-dimensional portrayals of women in India.
