Gene Kelly, born on August 23, 1912, Pennsylvania, USA, was a Hollywood actor, director and dancer. He started his career with the Broadway stage by playing small roles. His first major break was in 1940, when he played the lead role in the popular musical comedy Pal Joey, which helped him to get a movie contract with the MGM studio. Gene Kelly, as he famously known for his lead role in Singin' in the Rain, as the best dance film. He also received an Academy Award for his choreography in the film An American in Paris (1951). His last film was Xanadu in the year 1980 and he died on February 2, 1996, California.
