BIOGRAPHY

A popular Indian music composer, Ismail Darbar started off by working as a session violinist for established music directors like Anand-Milind, Kalyanji Anandji, Bappi Lahiri, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Nadeem-Shravan, A. R. Rahman and Jatin-Lalit, after which he got his first project as a music director for Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. One of the best movie music albums of the year, Ismail Darbar won The National Film Award for Best Music Direction and Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent, and was also nominated with the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. He then went on to compose music for Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa in 2000 and Deewangee in 2002, but gained huge acclaim once again for a Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial venture Devdas. Ismail won The Screen Award for Best Music Director and was nominated with Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. He has composed music for several movies like Shakti: The Power (2002), Husn (2006), Gurudakshina (2014), Telugu film Vishnu (2003), and Kannada film Santheyalli Nintha Kabira (2016). His 2017 venture includes the action thriller film Bhoomi, directed by Omung Kumar, for which he is the background score composer. His 2018 release includes Yeh Kaisa Tigdam.
