An NSD alumna and a professional Binu dancer, Jaya Seal is an Indian actress and has been a part of the industry for close to two decades. She made her debut in 1999 with the Hindi thriller Amrita, following which she appeared in Tamil, Bengali, Kannada, Odia, Telugu, and Assamese movies. With few TVCs to her credit, Jaya is also very well-known in Assam for her Bihu performances. In 2004, she met table player Bickram Ghosh on the sets of Hotath Neerar Jonnyo and soon the two got married. Together, the couple has two kids.

While she has appeared in movies such as Uttara, Kalakalappu, Bahala Chennagide, and Hotath Neerar Jonnyo to name a few, she is also best remembered for playing the role of Swati in Ekta Kapoor`s now off-air daily soap Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki. Some of the actress` recent work includes Katakuti, Sringkhal, Arshinagar, and Alifa.
