Entering the film industry in 2007 as a scriptwriter on the film Kerala State Award winning movie Oridathoru Puzhayundu, Jiju Asokan is an Indian writer and director, who works mainly in the Malayalam film industry. The movie was directed by Kalavoor Ravikumar and was based on Jiju's story. It won the Kerala Film Critics Association Awards for the Best film for children in 2007. Jiju began his writing career by publishing short stories in the Mathrubhumi "Balapangthi" section. In 2008 he served as the writer on director duo Shaiju Anthikkad, and Shaji Azeez's comedy drama Shakespeare M.A. Malayalam.

It was in 2012 that Jiju finally made his directorial debut with the college drama, Last Bench. He also wrote the story, served as the screenwriter and also penned the dialogues on the movie. Jiju followed it up with Urumbukal Urangarilla in 2015. The movie was critically well received. In 2018 Jiju wrote and directed Chemban Vinod Jose, Balu Varghese, Sreejith Ravi, Indrans, and Dharmajan Bolgatty in the romantic comedy-drama, Premasoothram.
