The Colorado-born John Carroll Lynch made his movie debut with a rather insignificant role in the 1993 movie Grumpy Old Men. However, he gained recognition only after he appeared in the 1996 movie, Fargo. While he has actively been a part of movies, he has also been a part of a number of television shows either in few episodes or in a recurring role. Some of his most prominent roles are in the shows The Drew Carey Show, Close to Home, and Body of Proof. Subsequently, some of his most notable works in movies are Face/Off (1997), Bubble Boy (2001), Gothika (2003), Things We Lost in the Fire (2007), Gran Torino (2008), Shutter Island (2010), Paul (2011), Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011), The Founder (2017), Private Life (2018) and The Highwaymen (2019).
