John Goodman is an American film, TV and stage actor, born in St. Louis, Missouri. He shifted to New York, to become a professional actor and worked a bartender and waiter to make ends meet. Goodman made his debut with Eddie Macon`s film Run. He was spotted by an ABC talent scout while he was acting in theatrical productions of Antony and Cleopatra and was cast in a comical role for a new television sitcom Roseanne, which became a major highlight of his career. He has featured in movies like The Babe (1992), The Flintstones (1994), Monsters Inc. (2001), Argo (2012),
Monsters University (2013) and as a supporting actor in The Artist (2011), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (2011), Flight (2012), and The Hangover Part III (2013).
On television, he has had regular roles on Amazon Studios` Alpha House and on the first season of HBO`s Treme (2010). Goodman is best known for his role as Dan Conner on the television series Roseanne (1988-1997), for which he won a Best Actor Golden Globe Award in 1993. He further starred in the film
