American actor, comedian, voice actor, singer, and puppeteer is popularly known for voicing and puppeteering the character of Tito Swing in the children`s TV series Shining Time Station. A graduate of Ohio University, Freeman has also voiced the character of Jafar in the American comedy musical romantic film Aladdin (1992). His performance in the Broadway musical She Loves Me earned him unanimous praise and he was also nominated for the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical in 1994. Freeman`s movie credits include Forever, Lulu (1987), The Ice Storm (1997), Amistad (1997), Mickey`s House of Villains (2002), and The Hoax (2016). In 2016, he voiced the character of Jafar in the documentary movie Life, Animated. Directed by Roger Ross Williams the movie opened to positive reviews and won several awards including Best Direction and Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016. His other projects include The High Note (2020) and Aladdin: The Broadway Musical (2021).
