Born in 1967, Joydeep Mukherjee is a Bengali actor and director. Having completed his graduation (B.Com), Joydeep went on to start his own ad agency. He started his acting career as a theater actor in 1991 and continued till 1997. Joydeep claims to be an RD Burman and Amitabh Bachchan fan and considers Satyajit Roy to be his idol, role model and someone he drew inspiration from. In 2016, his directorial movie Shikari was the third biggest opening of all time for a Bangladeshi film. The song Harabo Toke Niye from the same movie received an overwhelming response on YouTube, and broke all records, by reaching 1 million views within 36 hours of it being uploaded. In 2016, she starred in the movie Shikari, where she was paired opposite his spouse Shakib Khan. The movie generally received positive reviews. His 2017 directorial venture includes the romantic thriller, Nabab, starring Shakib Khan and Subhasree Ganguly in the lead. His 2018 releases include Chalbaaz and Bhaijaan Elo Re.
