Kumar Sanu, born as Kedarnath Bhattacharya, is known as Bollywood`s King of Romance. He has given countless hits including Saanson Ki Zarurat hai, Nazar Ke Samne, Ab Tere Bin Jee Lenge Hum and many more. Also a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri, Kumar has bagged the Filmfare Award for 5 consecutive years. He has lent his voice for up to 17000 songs. In a career spanning over two decades, Kumar Sanu has had successful collaborations with numerous music composers including RD Burman, Nadeem Sharavan, Anu Malik, Jatin Lalit, Ismail Darbar and many more. In 2009, the Government of India awarded him the Padmashree, India`s fourth-highest civilian honor, in recognition of his achievements. Many of his tracks feature in BBC`s Top 40 Bollywood Soundtracks of all time. He holds the Guinness Book of World Records since 1993 for recording the maximum number of songs in a single day, he recorded 28 songs.
Sanu is a trustee and Brand Ambassador of Bishwa Bandhan, a foundation for cerebral palsy. He opened a primary school, Kumar Sanu Vidya Niketan, for underprivileged children in Karol Bagh, Delhi where the students are given uniforms and books free of cost
