A post graduate specialized in Human Resource Management from Madras School of Social Work, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli is a Tamil film and television actress, who worked with the English theatre company Evam before making an entry into the movie industry. She started her career with the romantic comedy Mundhinam Paartheney in 2010, under the direction of Magizh Thirumeni, but the movie did not perform well at the box office. Her next project was the soap opera Dharmayutham on Vijay TV, in which she was part of the lead cast alongside Abbas, Karthik Kumar and Anuja Iyer. She then went on to feature in the Telugu drama Gouravam, about honour killing, under the direction of Radha Mohan. Her 2014 venture was the Malayalam social thriller Angels, followed by movies such as Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka, Salt Mango Tree and Kalaivu. The 2016 Tamil drama Ayynoorum Ayynthum also featured her in an important role, under the direction of Stanzin Raghu. Her 2017 venture includes the Tamil neo noir action crime Richie, directed by Gautham Ramachandran, in which she stars as one of the lead characters opposite Nivin Pauly, Natarajan Subramaniam and Shraddha Srinath.
