In a showbiz career spanning over four decades, Lawrence Gordon has bankrolled over 40 feature films, besides founding production companies like Largo Entertainment and Gordon Productions. He is primarily known for his association with movies in the action genre, among which are acclaimed movies like Predator (1987), the Academy Award-nominated fantasy sports drama Field of Dreams (1989), Boogie Nights (1997) and Hellboy (2004).

Between 1984 and 1986, Gordon also served as the president of the film studio 20th Century Fox. Notable among Gordon`s production credits in recent times are the superhero film Watchmen (2009), the sci-fi action film The Predator (2018) and the 2019 reboot of the Hellboy franchise featuring David Harbour in the titular role.
