Mamata Shankar is a veteran Indian actress, designer and choreographer who is noted for her work in Bengali cinema. In a career spanning over three decades, the actress appeared in more than 20 films and along the way won several awards including two BFJA Award for Best Supporting Actress and a Special Jury Award. Some of her most popular films include Oka Oori Katha (1978), Dakhal (1982), Sopan (1994), The Bong Connection (2006), Jaani Dyakha Hawbe (2011), Jaatishwar (2014) Agantuker Pore (2015), Maacher Jhol (2017) Ahare Mon (2018) and Flat No 609 (2018). Her 2019 releases include Shah Jahan Regency and Sesher Golpo.
