Manish Malhotra is a celebrated Indian designer, costume stylist, entrepreneur, revivalist, and couturier of international reputed. He has styled and designed more than 800 movies. From being the first recipient of the Filmfare Costume award, a category specially introduced for his work`, introducing the concept of `showstoppers` on Indian fashion runways to bringing a new palette of colors for the Indian neo-bride, he has built an ardent following among royalty, celebrities, and couture-lovers alike.
Self-taught, he has won over 50 awards across his 32-year-long career. The first costume stylist to launch his eponymous label in 2005, which has led to four stand-alone couture stores panned across Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad today. He also became the first Indian designer to present his designs in NFT form as well as launched the country`s first 360 -degree virtual store.
Renowned designer Manish Malhotra has managed to carve a place for himself in the Hindi film industry. Starting off with Swarg (1990), he received his breakthrough in Bollywood after which he styled Urmila Matondkar in Rangeela (1995). Extending his influence beyond fashion and films, Manish Malhotra has also showcased his works at the Philadelphia Museum as part of homage to Phulkari. Launching multiple new product collaborations, he has further expanded his label to jewellery and beauty.
