Mark Johnson is an American TV and film producer best known for the Academy Award-winning movie Rain Man (1988), which also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture. He also served as the executive producer for the critically and commercially acclaimed TV show Breaking Bad - one of the most successful TV shows of the world. However, Johnson had entered the film industry as an actor and spent almost 10 years in Spain, where he worked as an extra in films. He then joined Baltimore pictures and went on to produce films such as Good Morning, Vietnam, The Natural, Tin Men, Toys, Young Sherlock Holmes, Avalon, Diner, and Bugsy.
Johnson established his own production company Gran Via Productions in 1994. The first movie released under the banner, A Little Princess won the Los Angeles Film Critics New Generation Award. He also produced the thriller drama Donnie Brasco.
Some of his other notable films and TV series include The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010), Secret in Their Eyes (2015), Better Call Saul (2015 - 2017). In 2017, he produced the movie Lucky Logan directed by Steven Soderbergh.
