About
Best known for playing the role of Rachel Zane in the American legal drama series Suits, Meghan Markle is a social activist, former actress, and now the member of the British Royal Family. Born to Doria Ragland, a social worker and yoga instructor, and her husband Thomas Markle Sr., a retired Daytime Emmy Award-winning lighting director, Meghan grew up in Hollywood. She studied at private schools, before graduating with a bachelor's degree and double major in theatre and international studies from the Northwestern University.

Considering she is a mixed-race, she struggled to land any acting gigs since she wasn't black enough for black roles nor was she white enough for white roles. Hence, she worked as a freelance calligrapher to support herself. Her first screen appearance came in 2002 with a small role in an episode of the daytime soap opera General Hospital, where she played the role of a nurse. She went on to feature in television shows such as Love, Inc., CSI: NY, Deal or No Deal, 90210, and Fringe among many other, where she appeared in about one or more episodes. However, her most significant television appearance continues to remain Suits, which she was a part of since its first season up until the seventh season.

Meanwhile, she she made her feature film debut with a rather insignificant role in the 2005 romantic comedy-drama A Lot Like Love, starring Amanda Peet and Ashton Kutcher in the lead. Although she hasn't been a part of many movies, she has movies like Remember Me, Horrible Bosses, Dysfunctional Friends, Random Encounters, and Anti-Social to her credit.

Known for her charitable work, Meghan tried to make a change at the age of 11 by protesting against Ivory Washing Liquid's ad, which she found to be sexist. She wrote to Procter and Gamble, the company behind the ad, and also the First Lady of America at that time, Hillary Clinton, to change the ad. Since then, she has been closely associated with foundations and causes that work towards women empowerment and also identifies herself as a feminist.

In 2004, Meghan met actor and producer Trevor Engelson, whom she dated for close to seven years, before tying the knot with him in 2011. The two, however, got divorced in 2013. Three years after her divorce, in 2016, Meghan met Prince Harry on a blind date that a common friend set them on. The two soon started dating and got married on the 19th of May, 2018 in a royal ceremony at the St. George Chapel in Windsor Castle. She is now the Princess of England and is entitled to the style of Royal Highness along with Duchess of Sussex, Countess of Dumbarton, and Baroness Kilkeel. A year prior to her wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan decided to quit her acting career, and also deactivated all of her social media accounts in January 2018.
