About
Actor, comedian and screenwriter Mike Myers is best familiar to the audience for his portrayal of the titular role in the spy action comedy film series Austin Powers (1997-2002). He first rose to prominence during his stint in the long-running sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, where he wrote and performed in several sketches and created memorable characters like Linda Richman, Dieter and Wayne Campbell. The last of these was such a big hit that Paramount Pictures decided to greenlight a film based on the character in 1991. This led to Myers' feature film debut in the critically acclaimed and commercially successful comedy Wayne's World (1992).
Five years after his Hollywood debut, Myers wrote, produced and starred in the spy comedy Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997), the success of which led to the sequels Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002). These films remain Myers' most accomplished works till date. In 2013, Myers made his directorial debut with the acclaimed documentary Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon, which chronicled the life and times of renowned Hollywood talent manager and agent Shep Gordon.
Notable among the actor's recent movie credits are the war film Inglourious Basterds (2009), the titular voice role in the animated comedy series Shrek (2001-10), the neo-noir thriller Terminal (2018) and the biographical drama Bohemian Rhapsody (2018).
