An Australian actress, Miranda Otto started acting at the age of 18 and she appeared in various independent and studio films in Australia. She rose to prominence with her role in Emma's War (1988) where she played the role of a Teenager who moves to Australia during the World War II. After acting for nearly a decade in Australian films, Otto ventured in Hollywood and she gained attention during the 1990's after appearing in supporting role in films like The Thin Red Line and What Lies Beneath. The three time Australian Film Institute nominee for Best Actress, Otto's notable film credits include The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), which won her the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Cast and In Her Skin (2009), and Annabelle: Creation (2017), an American supernatural horror film directed by David F. Sandberg.
