Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Nic Pizzolatto is an American novelist, screenwriter, producer and short-story writer who is best known for creating the crime drama series, True Detective that was broadcasted in HBO. For his writing works, Pizzolatto has won several awards and recognition including British GQ Writer of the Year in 2015.
