Nick Robinson's showbiz journey began on stage at the age of 11, when he made his professional debut in a theatrical adaptation of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". Three years later, the young actor got his big break when he was cast in the role of Ryder Scanlon in the popular sitcom Melissa & Joey (2010-2015). Subsequently, Robinson made his feature film debut with a lead role in the coming-of-age comedy-drama The Kings of Summer. His work in the critically acclaimed movie earned Robinson a Phoenix Film Critics Society Award nomination for Best Performance by a Youth in a Lead or Supporting Role that year.

The sci-fi adventure film Jurassic World (2015), the drama Being Charlie (2015) and the romantic drama Everything, Everything (2017) are among Robinson's notable movie credits, with his performance in Everything, Everything earning him a Teen Choice Awards nomination in 2017. In the following year, Robinson essayed the titular role in the romantic comedy-drama Love, Simon (2018), which was the first ever movie on the subject of gay teenage romance to be bankrolled by a major Hollywood studio.
