A VJ-turned-actor, Prajin Padmanabhan is popular for his work in Tamil and Malayalam cinema. After working as a VJ for Sun TV, he made his Tamil film debut in 2006 with the movie Dishyum. It was only in 2010 that he made his Malayalam debut with the movie Tournament - Play & Replay and since then has starred in several Malayalam movies including The Thriller (2010) and Sand City (2015). In 2015, he appeared in the lead role in the Tamil-language movie Manal Naharam directed by Oru Thalai Ragam Shankar. His 2017 release includes the movie Engeyum Naan Iruppen directed by Benny Thomas.
