Producer Preety Ali is known primarily for bankrolling the acclaimed anthology film Shuruaat Ka Interval (2014), which featured eight short films directed by various popular Bollywood filmmakers. Besides this, she has also been associated with the production of several popular short films over the years.

In 2018, Preety co-produced by romantic drama Laila Majnu, which was written by her ex-husband and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, and directed by Sajid Ali. A contemporary retelling of the eponymous classic folklore, the movie featured Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwary in the titular roles.
