Priyaank Sharma is a budding actor who is the son of the famed actress Padmini Kolhapure and producer Pradeep Sharma. In order to pursue a career in acting, he did a course at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, along with other acting workshops. He started his career in film as an assistant director to Rajkumar Santoshi for Phata Poster Nikla Hero (2013). In 2020 Prachi Manmohan, who was his classmate in New York, decided he was perfect for the lead role in her production Sab Kushal Mangal. Priyaank plays the role of a news anchor in the film, for which he went through elaborate training including shouting his dialogues from a rooftop. He even learnt a new dialect to suit the character.
