Rashmi Gautam is an Indian actress and television presenter, who predominantly appears in the Telugu movies. She is best known for her work as the host of the Telugu comedy shows Jabardasth and Extra Jabardasth. After appearing in several small roles and supporting characters for almost a decade, Rashmi got her break as the lead actress in the movie Kandaen (Tamil) in 2011, which turned out to be highly successful.

Early Life
Rashmi`s family hails from Orissa, however, she was born and brought up in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. She studied at the Delhi Public School in Vishakapatnam and later moved to Hyderabad to pursue a career in the film industry.

Movie Career
Rashmi made her acting debut with the Telugu movie Holi in 2002. While she went unnoticed for most of her roles earlier in her career, Rashmi was also inclined towards dancing. She pursued dancing and also appeared in Telugu movies such as Adi C/o ABN College (2004), Thanks (2006), and Current (2009).
Rashmi also appeared in the National Award winning Bollywood movie, Well Done Abba in 2009. She next starred in Telugue movies such as Ganesh Just Ganesh (2009), Bindass (2009), Chalaki (2010), and Prasthanam (2010). Rashmi being a passionate dancer also appeared in a dance reality show where she was spotted by the South Indian actress Sangeetha. Soon, Sangeetha referred her to the director Mugil, who offered Rashmi her maiden lead role in the Tamil movie Kandaen (2011). Although the movie received mixed responses at the box office, Rashmi`s performance was praised with The Hindu citing that Rashmi makes her presence felt and that it was quite a solid role.

In 2012, Rashmi appeared in a Bollywood movie, Login, and also made her Kannada movie debut with Guru. The movie, which is a remake of the Tamil hit, Mouna Guru (2011), turned out to be an average earner at the box office, however, Rashmi once again impressed the audience with her performance and was nominated for the Best Female Debutant Actress Award at the SIIMA Awards. She later acted in an unreleased Tamil movie, Mappilai Vinayagar (2012) and Telugu films such as Vyuham (2015), and Charuseela (2015).

Rashmi`s 2016 releases include Guntur Talkies, Rani Gari Bangla, Antham, and Tanu Vachenata.

Television Career
Rashmi acted in the 2007 TV show, Yuva, and was also a contestant in the reality show Idea Super in 2011. She has also served as a host to popular TV shows such as Jabardasth Khatarnak Comedy Show (2013), Super Kutumbam (2013), Ragada The Ultimate Dance Show (2014), and Extra Jabardasth (2016). In 2016, Rashmi appeared in the show, Dhee Jodi. Her 2020 release includes Imsai Arasi, directed by Praveen Sattaru.
