Richard Marquand was a Welsh film director known for directing the sixth instalment of the Star War series, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983). He made his directorial debut with the horror movie The Legacy (1978). His other notable projects include Hearts of Fire (1987) and Nowhere to Run (1993), which were released posthumously. Richard Marquand passed away in September 1987.
