Daughter of legendary stars like Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, and the younger sibling of actor-turned-writer, Twinkle Khanna, Rinke Khanna made her Bollywood debut in 1999 with the rom-com Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. The movie, which also marked the entry of 300 debutantes, an industry first in Indian cinema, was received averagely at the box-office. For her portrayal of Khushi, Rinke bagged her maiden Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut. In the consecutive year, the actress appeared alongside Govinda and Sonali Bendre in Mahesh Manjrekar`s comedy drama Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain. Although, the movie opened to mixed reviews, it did nothing much to elevate Rinke Khanna`s career. Her next few projects like Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai (2001), Yeh Hai Jalwa (2003), and Jhankaar Beats (2003), also flopped miserably. In early 2003, the actress took a hiatus from the glamor industry to marry Sameer Saran, a businessman. The couple is happily married and settled in United Kingdom.
