Robert Lee Zemeckis is an American filmmaker and screenwriter who rose to fame by directing the Hollywood film, Romancing the Stone (1984) and the science-fiction comedy film trilogy, Back to the Future and Forrest Gump (1994), which won him an Academy Award for Best Director. Lee Zemeckis is noted for directing films across a wide variety of genres for both families and adults, his films have state-of-the-art special effects and live-action footage. His 2016 releases include Allied starring Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard and Jared Harris. His 2018 release includes Welcome to Marwen, directed by Robert Zemeckis.
