Shafi is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter who works primarily in Malayalam cinema. The younger brother of writer-director Rafi, he made his directorial debut with the 2001 comedy-drama film One Man Show. Since then, Shafi has directed around 15 films in a career spanning close to two decades, mostly in the comedy-drama genre. One among the most commercially successful Mollywood filmmakers in the past decade, some of Shafi`s most popular works are Kalyanaraman (2002), Mayavi (2007), Marykkundoru Kunjaadu (2010) and Two Countries (2015). Besides these, he has also directed a Tamil film, the 2005 Vikram starrer Majaa. Other notable directorial credits include Pulival Kalyanam (2003), Chattambinadu (2009), 101 Weddings (2012) and the 2017 comedy thriller film Sherlock Toms. His 2018 release includes the comedy drama, Oru Pazhaya Bomb Kadha.
