Swapnil Rajshekhar is an Indian actor, writer, and director who primarily works in the Marathi television industry. He was born to Janardhan Bhutkar, one of the finest actors and thespians of Marathi cinema. Swapnil started his TV career with Doordarshan and is popularly known for his roles on TV shows such as Raja Shiv Chhatrapati, Kulaswamini, Khel Mandala, Veer Shivaji, and Jai Malhar. The actor made his debut with the movie Pratidaav in 1997 and since then has appeared in movies such as Sang Priye Tu Konachi (1999), Achanak (2008), Chandrakala (2011), Teen Bayka Fajiti Aika (2012), Punha Gondhal Punha Mujra (2014), and Katyar Kaljat Ghusali (2016).
In 2015, Swapnil directed Ekla Chalo Re, a social documentary film which was released on YouTube. For his short film titled Baluta, he won the Best Screenplay Award at the Haryana International Film Festival. In the same year, he wrote and directed the another short film Saavat which went on to recieve 17 awards at national and international film festivals Best Screenplay Jury Award at the 5th Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival. In 2017, he appeared in the movie Manus Ek Mati directed by Suresh Shankar Zad. He is also associated with the Marathi movie, Maza Algaar. Directed by Milind Raghunath Kamble, the movie talks about a young girl`s fight for justice. The movie also stars Aishwarya Rajesh and Yash Kadam.
