Tarel Alvin McCraney is an American playwright and theatre actor. An alumnus of the Yale School of Drama and a recipient of the prestigious Whiting Award and the MacArthur Fellowship, McCraney is best known for his play In the Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue, which was later adapted into the award-winning film Moonlight (2016). Notable works include Head of Passes , Choir Boy and The Brothers Size, which won the New York Times Outstanding Playwright Award and was nominated for an Olivier Award.
