After starting his career as a set designer in 2002 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's romantic tragedy Devdas, Udai Prakash Singh went on to work as an assistant art director on several movies. His first project as an assistant art director was Baaz: A Bird In Danger in 2003, following which he worked in movies like Bride & Prejudice, Fanaa, Halla Bol, Bhoothnath, Love Story 2050, Rab Ne Bana DI Jodi, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, and Thank You among many others. In 2013, Udai made his debut as an art director with the documentary The Attacks of 26/11 and since then he has been a part of movies such as Satyagraha, Ab Tak Chappan 2, Jai Gangaajal. and Toilet -Ek Prem Katha.
