Vasan Bala is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter and actor who works primarily in Bollywood. He is best known for his work as a screenwriter in the period crime drama Bombay Velvet (2015) and the neo noir psychological thriller Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016). In 2012, Vasan made his directorial debut with the crime thriller Peddlers, which was nominated for a Golden Camera Award at the Cannes Film Festival that year. Besides these, he has also worked as an assistant director in films like Dev.D (2009), Gulaal (2009) and Trishna (2011), and has appeared in minor supporting roles in Aamir (2008) and Ugly (2013).
