Despite holding a bachelor’s degree in electronic media from SRM Arts & Science College, Yashmith pursued his acting career, starting with a number of ad films and television series. Predominantly associated with the Tamil film industry, Yashmith was first seen in the Tamil short film Oro Maalai Pozhuthu in 2010, following which he featured in the tele-film A Friend Request. In 2013, he was seen in an uncredited role in Irandam Ulagam, two years after which he made his credited feature film debut with Yoogan. In 2017, Yashmith was cast alongside Ramakrishnan and Leema Babu in the horror movie Yendha Nerathilum.
