Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is an initiative by the Jagran Prakashan Group towards creating a culture of cinema appreciation and an honest and sincere attempt create a platform that connects great content with audiences across the country.


Last year, with over 18 towns, 400+ screenings, 18 cinema appreciation workshops, the festival directly touched over an audience of over 55,000 people, and the media coverage of Jagran puts the reach of JFF well beyond 50 mn people across India.


In its 9th year, the Festival received great response from filmmakers internationally having received a record number of 4500 film entries. The Jagran Film Festival will start from Delhi, traveling through Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Patna, Dehradun, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bhopal, Indore, Gorakhpur, Agra, Ludhiana, Hisar, Meerut, Raipur and finally culminates in Mumbai. This makes it geographically the largest film festival perhaps in the world. The festival screens films across genres from around the globe. A unique feature of JFF is that the cast and crew of a few select films are invited to a discussion with the audience on various elements of the film to wherever the Festival travels. An important aspect of the festival is to generate discussions on the various aspects of Cinema and its impact on society and popular culture.

Q. How do I register for the 10th Edition of Jagran Film Festival?

A. You can register online bookmyshow.com June 27th,2019 onwards. 


Q. What are the dates of the 10th Edition of Jagran Film Festival?

A. The dates for 10th Edition of Jagran Film Festival are from July 18th, 2019 to 21st  July 2019.


Q. How do I collect my festival badge?

A. You can collect your festival badge from the venue after showing a valid photo identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card or Driver`s License). The badges will be available for pick up from 10 am onwards from July 18th, 2019, until the end of the festival.


Q. Can someone else collect my festival badge on my behalf?

A. No. Each delegate needs to personally collect the festival badge. Only after showing a valid identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity card or Driver`s License) will the badge be given to you.


Q. What do I need to carry when I go to pick up my festival badge?

A. Please present the following at the registration desk to collect your festival badge.

 The electronically generated confirmation email/SMS.

 Valid photo identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card or Driver’s License).

Please note that the festival badge will not be issued in your absence and in the absence of a valid photo identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card or Driver`s License).


Q. What can I do if I lose my festival badge?

A. Delegates who have lost their festival badge will have to re-register for a new festival badge for security reasons. Lost festival badges will not be replaced.


Q. How do I attend a film screening/session?

A. There are two ways to attend a film screening/session:

1. Book a seat/show: You need to book a seat for the film screening/session that you want to attend using your unique festival badge number.

The seat can be booked in the following ways

· Online - through BookMyShow.

· On the ground - At the booking counters available at all festival screening  venues – Siri Fort

Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability. You can book a maximum of four seats in a day for 4 different shows. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the screening venue at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.

walk-in line: You can arrive at the screening venue and wait in Stand By line. You will be given entry to the screening venue subject to availability.


Q. What is a walk-in line?

A walk-in line is meant for the delegates who have not pre-booked their seats/shows for screenings/sessions. The festival generally reserves a few seats for each screening/session for delegates with no prior bookings. Depending upon availability, the delegates in this line are given access to the screening/session.


Q. Do I need to book seats for each film screening/session separately?

A. Yes. You need to book seats for each film screening/session separately. Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.


Q. How many film screenings/sessions can I book in a day?

A. You can book a maximum of 4 film screenings/sessions in a day. Please note that all seat/show bookings are subject to availability. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.


Q. When can I start booking my seats for a film screening?

Booking for each film screening will open a day prior to the screening day at 8 am. For July 18th, 2019, bookings will open on June 17th, 2019 and so on. You can book online through www.bookmyshow.com or on the ground at the booking counters at all festival screening venues. Some seats will be reserved for first come, first served walk-in delegates at the venue so you can try and avail that facility which is subject to availability. Please note that all seat/show bookings are subject to availability. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.


Q. Can I change or cancel a booking?

You cannot change one booking into another. However, you can cancel a booking for a particular screening/session and then book another seat for a different screening/session that you might like to watch. All bookings need to be canceled at least 1 hour prior to the start time of the screening. Please note that the new booking you make post canceling an existing one will also be subject to the availability of seats

Q. In case I am unable to book my seat for a screening/session due to unavailability, what can I do?

A. The festival usually takes this into consideration and tries to schedule multiple screenings of a film (The same does not apply to sessions). In case you are unable to book a particular film screening, you can do one of the following:

Refer to your screening schedule to see an alternative screening date (If any), day and time and book it in advance.

Check online for sudden availability due to cancellations.

Arrive at the screening auditoriums much before the screening to check if the rush line/ walk-in seats are available at the venue or if there have been any cancellations.


Q. What is the difference between a full festival badge and day pass?

A. Full festival badge: Access to all (One can select a maximum of four shows in a day) the screenings/sessions at the festival valid from July 18th, 2019 to July 21st, 2019.

Day pass: Access to all (One can select a maximum of four shows in a day) screenings/sessions on the day for which it is booked.


Q. What does a day pass get me access to?

A. A day pass gives you access to all the movie screenings and special events taking place on the date specified for the pass.


Q. How many screenings/sessions can I attend with a 1-day pass?

A. You can book maximum of 4 screening/sessions a day. However, you can wait in the walk-in line at any venue in case you want to see more than 4 movies a day. The confirmation of seats, in this case, will be subject to availability.

Terms & Conditions

  • A delegate must be 18 years of age or above. Please carry your valid Age proof (Passport, Pan Card, Aadhar Card, Voter ID or Drivers Licence) at all times for verification.
  • Registration for the 10th Jagran Film Festival will remain open until 21st July 2019.
  • For Press Delegates, the submission of an accreditation form does not guarantee accreditation. The festival reserves the right to accept or reject an application.
  • By registering for the festival, the delegate has agreed to comply with the festival`s participation guidelines, code of conduct and security regulations.
  • Any breach of participation guidelines, code of conduct and security regulations, will result in immediate cancellation of the festival registration.
  • Festival badge will not be handed over in the absence of a valid photo identity proof (Passport, Pan Card, Aadhar Card, Voter ID or Drivers License).
  • Each delegate will receive a personalized festival badge with a unique barcode. One delegate cannot use another delegate`s festival badge on any occasion. Such usage will result in cancellation of the registration. Any festival badge that is used by any person other than the registration holder will be confiscated.
  • It is mandatory for the delegate to wear the festival badge at all times within a festival venue. Delegates not carrying the festival badge will be refused entry to the venue by security personnel.
  • In the event of losing the festival badge, the delegate will have to re-register for a new delegate card for security reasons. Lost festival badges will not be replaced.
  • The Festival Badge allows access to films screenings. There can be changes to this schedule. These changes will reflect on the website every day and also will be flashed across our social media platforms so please do watch out for such changes. Best efforts will be made to communicate any such changes to the delegates.
  • The booking for film tickets will open on 17th July. Every day, starting from 17th July, the booking will open at 9 am for the films playing over the next one day. A delegate can choose to book all the tickets for the next one days, via online booking or at the festival venue booking counters.
  • Delegates who have booked tickets online must arrive at the screening theatre, at least 15 minutes prior to the screening they have booked. Any delegate arriving later than that will have to wait in the Stand-by line, irrespective of the ticket booking status.
  • The Festival movie schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. All schedule changes will be announced through the festivals website, official social media platforms and at the festival venues.
  • Piracy is a legal offense. Any kind of audio or video recordings during the film screenings will be met with severe actions from the festival. If found guilty of any such activity, the responsible delegates recording device and festival badge will be confiscated. The delegate would not be allowed to attend any screen
  • For security reasons, the organizers reserve the right to perform a security check on any member of the audience at any point during the event.
  • Screenings could be canceled/ rescheduled if discipline guidelines are not met with by any delegate
  • Organizers or any of its agents, officers and employees shall not be responsible for any injury, damage, theft or losses or cost suffered at or as a result of the event or any part of it.
  • Food and beverages will be available inside the festival. Any outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the festival.
