About The Event
Kindness can take many forms, from the small gestures we offer others to the understanding we extend to ourselves. Yet, in the busyness of everyday life, we don't always make time to notice or reflect on it.
Join us at Nihshreyasa for a three-hour experience inspired by World Kindness Day, dedicated to exploring kindness in its many forms: towards others, towards the person you are today, and towards the different versions of yourself that have brought you here.
Through loving-kindness meditation, gratitude, guided reflection, journaling, and a closing sound bath, we'll create space to slow down and turn our attention inward. You'll be invited to notice the things you appreciate, reflect on your experiences with greater gentleness, and spend some time with memories of who you once were and hopes for who you might become. Along the way, there will be opportunities to put your thoughts into words, listen to others, and share in a small group, should you feel comfortable doing so.
In the rush of everyday life, kindness can sometimes become something we remember to offer everyone except ourselves. We can be patient with others and critical of ourselves, celebrate another person's progress while overlooking our own, or carry old experiences without ever pausing to consider them with compassion. This gathering offers an opportunity to look at these familiar patterns without judgement and explore what a little more kindness might make possible.
There is nothing to achieve and no particular way you need to feel by the end. You don't need prior experience with meditation, and you won't be expected to share anything you're not comfortable sharing. Simply come with an openness to participate, reflect, listen, or sit quietly.
We'll close with a sound bath, allowing the sounds and vibrations of the instruments to offer a gentle transition back into the rest of your day.
A Saturday of Kindness is an invitation to spend a few hours with yourself and others, making room for gratitude, reflection, and a kinder way of relating to the life you're living.
