Acting Workshop, Step Into the Spotlight!


1 Day, Total 5 Hours of Workshop (9:30 AM to 2:30 PM)


If you have ever been curious about acting or improving acting skills but did not know where to start, this 1-day, 5-hour workshop is the perfect place to begin. Designed for individuals with little to no acting experience, or for those with experience, it offers a warm introduction to the world of acting while equipping you with the essential tools & performance skills.

This special price is offered to make the workshop more accessible while continuing to provide a meaningful, practical, and engaging acting experience.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:


1) This particular workshop will be conducted in Kannada as part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations on November 1st.

2) We also perform in other languages, but this particular workshop will be predominantly in Kannada, as we will be recreating some of the most memorable and favorite scenes from blockbuster and hit Kannada movies.

3) Who can book tickets for this workshop?

The answer is simple - everyone. Whether you know Kannada or not, you are absolutely welcome.

While the workshop will mainly be conducted in Kannada, participants can perform their improv acts in any language they are comfortable with.

So, language is no barrier - just bring your interest, energy, and love for acting!!!


The Activities:


Part 1:


a) Introductions & Opening Prayer: Setting the stage for a creative journey

b) Dynamic Warmup & Voice Exercises: Loosen up, energize, and prepare your body and mind for performance.

c) Interactive Discussion & Theory: Why do you want to be an actor?

d) Theater & Fun Activities: Theater activities offer numerous benefits, including building confidence, fostering empathy, and refining communication skills. They encourage active listening, quick thinking, and teamwork while providing a safe and creative platform for exploring diverse perspectives and managing stress.

e) Quick Break: We will have a 1 to 2-minute break to relax, drink water, and interact with one another. Please remain within the workshop venue during the break. Going outside is not permitted, as it may disrupt or delay our upcoming activities.

f) Improv Performances: A scenario based on the given theme will be provided, or you can choose your own scenario to perform. Turn your instant ideas into an engaging performance and express yourself through drama, comedy, or any genre you choose.

The improv session will include both group and individual performances. You will have 10 to 20 minutes to prepare before presenting your act. Think fast. Create freely. Perform boldly!

g) Feedback & Review: Sharing individual feedback and reviews for each participant who performed in the scene.

Part 2:


h) Very Important: After the short break, we will have a quick theory session on the mentioned topics here:

Channel That Fear, Voice, Body Language, Creating Inner World, Scene Practice Discussion, Resonance in Acting, Relationship with Co-actors, Inner Images in Acting, Rhythm in Dialogues

i) Recreation of favorite scenes: We will be recreating some of the most memorable and favorite scenes from blockbuster and hit Kannada movies.

A scene will be explained to the participants, and characters will be assigned based on the original movie scene. You will have 10 to 20 minutes to prepare before performing.

Props and costumes will also be provided based on the requirements of each scene, helping you bring the characters and moments to life on stage.

Relive the iconic moments. Step into the characters. Make the scene your own!

j) Feedback & Review: Sharing individual feedback and reviews for each participant who performed in the scene.

Part 3:


Monologue Performance: Every participant is required to perform a monologue. A script will be provided to all participants; alternatively, you may present a monologue based on your own idea or concept.


Note: Please note that a monologue performance may be conducted if time permits, depending on the completion of the preceding activities.


Part 4:


Q&A: Ask questions and clear your doubts.

Heads up about the projects & selection: A brief about the selection process for our ongoing & upcoming projects

Anything you want to discuss?: Bring your ideas and thoughts for shorts, plays, and movie projects.

Group photo & video bytes: A group photo and performance videos will be captured for upload on our Instagram page, nstheatertroupe, or Naatyasuchi Theater. We will also record short video bytes of participants sharing their workshop experiences.


This immersive session will not only give you practical acting tools but also the chance to connect with fellow creatives, share stories, and build a supportive network in a friendly environment.


Things to keep in mind:

*Be curious to know things, be active and proactive, be free, and be comfortable.

*Sessions will be interactive, and we all will make it more interactive and engaging with the activities.

*Do not put yourself into comfort zones; be bold and ready to make mistakes. Then learn from it to move forward and take better actions

*Do not feel shy about the scenes performance.

*Whether you are a beginner or carry some experience in acting, often ask questions (clear your doubts), understand the activities or scenarios, and perform accordingly by giving your 100%.

Quick breaks: 2 mins; short breaks: 5 mins.


VERY IMPORTANT: We are looking for actors for our upcoming theater projects, short movies/web series, and feature movie projects. Our main focus now is finding the right actors for our debut feature film by Byalal Studios. The best performers in the workshop will get a chance to be part of our projects, which depend on scripts and characters.

*If you choose to have lunch at the workshop venue, please ensure that the area is kept clean and tidy. Kindly dispose of any waste properly and help maintain the cleanliness of the space.
