About The Event
Anubandh – A Sacred Bond is an evening of Hindustani Classical Music dedicated to the timeless Guru–Shishya Parampara, the sacred tradition through which India’s musical heritage has been preserved and enriched across generations. Celebrating the profound bond between teacher and disciple, the concert brings together distinguished artistes whose performances reflect a shared legacy of learning, devotion, and artistic excellence.
The evening opens with a captivating Hindustani vocal recital by the acclaimed Kashyap Bandhu—Shri Prabhakar Kashyap and Shri Diwakar Kashyap—accompanied on harmonium by Dr. Ravindra Katoti and on tabla by Shri Yashwant Vaishnav.
The second half presents a rare sitar duet by Ustad Rafique Khan and his disciple Shri Ankush N Nayak, accompanied on tabla by Pandit Yogesh Samsi and Shri Yashwant Vaishnav. This unique collaboration offers audiences an opportunity to witness the continuity of a living musical tradition, where knowledge is passed from one generation to the next through years of dedicated mentorship and practice.
