Most people think humor is something you are born with. It is not. It is a skill built on a simple principle - surprise.
In this workshop, we break down what actually makes something funny, and train you to create that surprise on demand, in real conversation through theory, improv role-play and writing exercises.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
A new way of observing your everyday world and the techniques behind every good laugh:
1. The theory of incongruity - why breaking expectation is the root of all humor
2. Straight and wavy line - when "normal" contrasts with the "odd" to make things funny
3. Benign violation - the sweet spot between "that is wrong" and "that is hilarious"
4. Appropriately introducing humor in different social or workplace contexts
