About The Event
Our everyday lives are filled with little moments, funny incidents, unexpected encounters and experiences worth sharing. But we often do not pay enough attention to them, let alone turn them into stories.
A well-told story can take an ordinary conversation somewhere more interesting. It helps people relate to your experiences and makes your interactions more memorable.
In this Talk to Anyone workshop, you will learn how to recognise stories in your everyday life, bring them into conversations naturally and narrate them in a way that keeps people engaged.
What we will work on:
1. Finding stories: Develop associative thinking to connect words, topics and situations to your own experiences.
2. Claiming space: Use your voice, tone and body language to prepare your listener for a story.
3. Structuring your story: Learn a simple, easy-to-follow structure to make your stories engaging.
4. Getting the timing right: Learn when to keep a story short, when to build on it and how to adapt its length to the energy of the conversation.
5. Making stories relatable: Find ways to help others connect with your experiences rather than simply recounting what happened.
Who is this for?
Are you someone who:
1. Often runs out of things to say beyond small talk?
2. Has interesting experiences but struggles to convey them?
3. Finds it difficult to hold attention while narrating an incident?
4. Wants to make everyday conversations more interesting and memorable?
Whether you are at a party, meeting someone new, networking, interacting with colleagues or out on a date, storytelling can help you create more engaging conversations and meaningful connections.
At Talk to Anyone, we create a space that is warm, supportive and challenging in equal measure. A space where you can step outside your comfort zone, work through what holds you back and become more comfortable with how you present yourself to the world.
