About The Event
So yeah we are creating a new Bookclub called Books & Banter (B&B), that operates in the book of the month format and whose objective is to foster lively discussions and lifelong friendships between the like minded people found in Bangalores vibrant Bibliophilic Niche.
Every month we will select a Book for everyone to read and we will then discuss it during the monthly meetup.
These Meetups will occur in central areas of Bangalore like Church street, Cubbon Park, Koramangala and Indiranagar.
One must be 16 or older to participate.
This months selection is the 72 page classic,
The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.
We will be discussing it on Sunday, 12th July, from 3pm to 5:30 pm at Treehouse, Indiranagar.
After that I was thinking we will be reading two books per month from July until January, mostly classics or popular books most would have already read, so that we can build up a solid base of readers before we shift to newer, more obscure, non classic books selected by democratic voting among the members.
The books we will likely be reading till January are, in order :
1). Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
2). Notes from the Underground by Fyodor Dostoevsky
3). A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hossaini
4). The Stranger by Albert Camus
5). The Shining by Stephen King
6). Diamond Dogs by Alastair Reynolds
7). Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
8). And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.
9). The Rice Mother by Rani Manicka
10). No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai
