When housewife and nightclub dancer Roxie Hart murders her lover, she lands in the Cook County Jail alongside vaudeville star Velma Kelly. Determined to avoid conviction, Roxie hires Chicago's smooth-talking criminal lawyer Billy Flynn, who transforms her crime into a media sensation, manipulating the public, the press, and even her rival, Velma, in a spectacle of scandal and showmanship.
Based on the 1926 play of the same name, CHICAGO was adapted for the stage by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb.
