About The Event
The Dance For Dance Festival, an initiative of Kalavaahini Trust, was started in 2018 and returns in 2026 for its seventh edition in Chennai during the December Music and Dance Season. Curated by renowned Bharatanatyam artist Malavika Sarukkai, the festival has, over the years, presented acclaimed artists in well-received performances while also providing emerging artists with a platform to gain greater visibility. The festival was conceived in response to the need for a thoughtfully curated dance festival where artists across generations could share their work in an environment that encourages artistic exchange and excellence.
The three-day festival, taking place on December 18, 19 and 20, 2026, will present solo and ensemble classical dance performances by artists from India and internationally at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, Chennai. Dance For Dance Festival 2026 - Chennai is supported by Sundari Silks in association with Kartik Fine Arts, and managed by Shreya Nagarajan Singh Arts Development Consultancy.
