About The Event
Everyday Rhythm: Decoding Society Via Movement
Everyday Rhythm is a Physical Theatre and Dance workshop that explores how our bodies are conditioned by social and cultural upbringing. Through movement improvisation, participants will examine these learned patterns and discover new possibilities of moving, engaging, and interacting.
The workshop questions our obsession with the aesthetically pleasing body and invites us to explore the intelligence within the deviant, weird, absurd, uncertain, and unexpected.
Rather than focusing on how movement should look, we will explore what movement can reveal about the way we experience ourselves and society.
Dancers, theatre practitioners, and anyone interested in Sociology, movement, and the body are warmly welcome.
