Legendary Jagjit Singh ji parted with us on this day and left behind a heritage that we are only proud of and feel it is our duty to preserve and pass that heritage to future generations. The first Ghazal Day is to be celebrated on 10th Oct 2026 at Shanmukhanand Auditorium from 6:30 pm.

Ghazal day also aims to celebrate other legends like Mehdi Hadan Saheb, Begum Akhtar ji , Ghulam Ali Saaheb, Pankaj Udhas Ji, Bhupinder ji amongst many others and also aims to recognize amazing Urdu shaayars of our sub continent. The format of the evening is extremely unique, resembling the spirit of traditional Ghazal Singing. Shri Deepak Pandit will lead a group of 6 top notch musicians (in a pure unplugged / acoustic set up ) to perform with all participating artists. All music will be purely upaj (extempore) bringing huge surprises and creativity for listeners and musicians alike. The celebrated singers will be singing 2 to 3 numbers of their choice and include one number of Jagjit ji or Chitaji to mark the occasion. Evergreen Ghazal “Sarakati Jaaye Hai” will be sung at the end by all participating singers and maestros (in a format like We are the world ) which also will not be pre-rehearsed thus bringing out creative expressions of all artists in a finale.
