About The Event
This isn't a quick paint-along. Learn Gond art directly from one of India's finest artists, Prakash Garg (@gargprakash). Prakash will first introduce you to the cultural roots and visual language of Gond art (its motifs, patterns, shapes, lines, and techniques) and demonstrate how these elements come together in a finished artwork. You'll then spend most of the afternoon creating your own Gond painting, with step-by-step guidance and time to ask questions, refine details, and get individual help as you work.
The four-hour format is intentional. Gond art involves detailed line work, repeating patterns, and careful composition, so the longer session gives you time to understand the art form, practise its techniques, and complete your canvas without rushing. No previous drawing or painting experience is required.
The workshop is hosted at Bistro Claytopia in Koramangala, India's first paint-your-own pottery studio. Rather than a cafe with a workshop squeezed into a corner, it is an art-first space built around creating while you eat, making it a natural setting for the afternoon.
Food and drinks are woven into the afternoon too. On arrival, choose a mojito, iced tea, cold cappuccino, or hot cappuccino, served with fries and cheese balls. Around 5 PM, an unlimited mini-buffet of pizza slices, pasta, and garlic bread will be served while the creative session continues.
All required art materials and your canvas are included, and the finished Gond artwork you create is yours to take home.
