About The Event
Once Upon India s first theatrical experience - Gulzar celebrates Gulzar Sahab not just as one of the most beloved poets of our time, but as an emotion. His words have lived in our childhoods, in train journeys, in love that stayed and love that quietly left. This curation holds a place close to the heart.
The evening brings together three art forms: storytelling, singing, and dance - not as separate performances, but as one. We listen to some of the most magical songs written by the legend, woven through with stories that illuminate the world he created.
Good to know
- This is an indoor, seated baithak in an auditorium.
- Children below the age of 12 are welcome without a ticket - do let us know in advance if you re bringing a junior along :)

About the Troupe
Mohit - author, storyteller, and someone who has had the rare privilege of knowing Gulzar Sahab personally for over twenty years. He has written numerous books on the legend s work, and those who know him will tell you: he speaks like him too.
Pavithra Chari - trained in Hindustani classical music and a disciple of Smt. Shubha Mudgal, she has sung for composers A.R. Rahman, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and many others. She brings the legend s words to life with the warmth and precision that only a voice like hers can.
Saloni Saraf - a Kathak artist trained under Gauri Sharma Tripathi and Sujata Banerjee, whose movement doesn t illustrate the poetry so much as breathe alongside it.
Together, they make Gulzar an evening to sit with - the way people do in a baithak. Without urgency. Just his words, held close.
